Sia – The Girl You Lost (Monkey Puzzle)

Sia Unique is certainly a word that fits well with Sia (Furler). Her voice is deep and rich with soul. It's unmistakable.

This single is taken from her third solo album, 'Some People Have Real Problems', and while the song's full title is actually suffixed with 'To Cocaine', it remains unclear whether it has any biographical reference.

Despite having a sombre identity the melody is surprisingly upbeat, jaunting along without a care in the world. But to some, this may be nothing more than a strong (but definite) album track.

Although impressive, Sia’s nasal style can occasionally be wearing on the ear and may not be to everyone’s taste. But for those who love her in the style of a marmite-laden piece of toast, the effortless piano, drums and strings let the vocals shine through in an almost hypnotic sense.

Any fan of this petite Australian MySpace phenomenon certainly wouldn’t be wasting any money buying this latest offering. Simple, but effective.

Sia – The Girl You Lost (Monkey Puzzle)
Sia undoubtedly has a remarkable voice, but is this a remarkable record from the thirty-two-year-old Aussie?

I've been waiting for Sia to release something over here for so long. If she doesn't get play-listed on the national networks then there's something wrong with this country! x
